HND Grading System in Cameroon

 This article covers the HND grading system adopted by the Cameroon educational system. The Higher National Diploma (HND) program is a two-year vocational university course. 



The HND program teaches the skills and knowledge required for employment. It enables prospective high school leavers to gain a recognized qualification or get a high-paying job. 

HND courses or new HND programs in Cameroon are undertaken by students who have sat and passed the GCE Advanced level examination. The HND program covers various disciplines or fields of study.

HND Grading System in Cameroon

The Grading system for the Higher National Diploma exam in Cameroon is as follows:

Distinction: 

GPA of 3.50 and above / Average of 15-20 (85-100 percent).

Upper Credit: 

GPA of 3.00 – 3.49 / Average of 14-14.9 (70-74 percent).

Lower Credit: 

GPA of 2.50 – 2.99 / Average of 12-13.9 (60-69 percent).

Pass: 

GPA of 2.00 – 2.49 / Average of 10-11.9 (50-54 percent).

Fail: 

Below 10 (Below 50 percent).
