Categories and Cameroon Civil Service Grades & Salaries 2024 PDF

The Cameroon Civil Service hosts many workers in different grades and salary indices.

The Cameroon Civil Service Grading System

These civil servants are paid according to the civil service grade and salary scale stipulated by the national law.

As of February 2024, the Cameroonian government increased workers' salaries in public service, including their allowances and retirement benefits.

Before 2024, Cameroon's last significant change in salaries was in 2014.

What are the Categories of Workers in Cameroon?

The categories of workers or civil servants in Cameroon can be summarised as follows:

  1. Primary and Secondary school teachers
  2. University Lecturers
  3. Policemen and Military officers

Update: Cameroon's president has signed a decision harmonizing civil servants' retirement age to sixty (60) years. With this addition, civil service workers can now work for longer years. Read more on that here.
